[DSK 2025] WEFLO Establishment of 'Smart Landing Pad' for Unmanned Drone Inspection
2025-02-27
At the 'Drone x AI' session held at 'DSK 2025', COO of WEFLO Jeongwan Koh presents the AAM aircraft trend.

WEFLO exhibited the "K-drone delivery center" infrastructure jointly operated with the Korea Institute of Aviation Safety and Technology (KIAST) and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS). Smart Landing Pad, an unmanned drone inspection platform based on its core technology, multi-modal fusion sensors, is currently being established and operated in collaboration with nine local governments, including Jeju and Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province.

At the "Drone Entertainment Zone" on one side of the exhibition hall, it was crowded with general family visitors such as children and students enjoying drone racing, drone Super Bowl, drone basketball, and virtual reality (VR) drone ball parties.

Meanwhile, at the DSK conference 'DronexAI' session, in-depth discussions continued on the current state of the market as well as the introduction of its technology by major companies.

Jeong-wan Koh, COO of operations at WEFLO, presented trends in the AI-based future aviation mobility (AAM) industry and the use of AI technology. He defined AAM as a broad concept that integrates unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS), urban air mobility (UAM), and regional air mobility (RAM).

COO Koh said, "The biggest difference between UAM or air taxi from conventional helicopters is that noise is significantly reduced to 1/100 by changing the power source from engine to motor, enabling air service in the city center." "We are actively pursuing the project in Korea, believing that Jeju Island has good conditions and demand for air taxis."

He then presented 'Trustworthy AI' as a keyword and added, "Based on AI and application safety, autonomous flight, traffic management, and maintenance can be predicted more quickly and accurately."
