WEFLO, a future aviation mobility (AAM) solution startup, has signed an accelerating contract with Starburst, a global space accelerator, for the first time in East Asia.

Starburst is an accelerator specializing in global aviation, space, and defense established in 2012, with seven branches around the world, including the United States, Korea, France, Germany, and Israel. Starburst has established a close network with the world's leading aerospace, space, and defense agencies and companies, and has provided acceleration and investment to more than 160 startups.

WEFLO is a company spun off from Hanwha System in 2022 and achieved a cumulative investment of 6.3 billion won in two and a half years after its establishment. It has developed a contactless inspection technology for future air mobility such as drones and air taxis through its own multi-modal sensor. In 2024, as part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's drone commercialization project, it built drone delivery infrastructure in about 30 local governments across the country and won the Innovation Award in the drone category of CES, the world's largest consumer electronics and IT fair, in 2025.

Through this accelerating contract, Starburst will provide WEFLO with support for the formation of a global network of governments, companies, and related academia, mentoring global aerospace and defense professionals, and strategic consulting for global growth. Through this, WEFLO is expected to provide a bridgehead for entering the global market and strengthen cooperation with global companies.

"WEFLO is leading the predictive maintenance market for future mobility such as drones and AAM based on its own AI inspection technology," said Kim Sang-dawn, CEO of Starburst Korea. "In particular, we were selected for Starburst's program in recognition of our potential to lead the predictive maintenance field in the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) market of future land, sea, and air mobility, where electricity will become a trend, and we will continue to give full support."

Yee-jung Kim, CEO of WEFLO, said, "The accelerating contract with Starburst is new as it is the first time for an East Asian company beyond Korea," adding, "We will use Starburst's accelerating technology as a good opportunity to promote Wiplo's technology to the global market and strengthen cooperation with global partners."
