WEFLO, a future aviation mobility (AAM) solution startup, successfully completed a full inspection of public drones in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province through AI drone inspection technology, taking the lead in securing the safety of drones in local governments.

From the 18th to the 21st, WEFLO conducted a comprehensive inspection of public drones in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province at the drone delivery center as part of the "2024 Drone Special Liberalization Zone Creation Project." This is the first case in Korea to conduct a comprehensive safety diagnosis of drones owned by local governments, and it has prepared safe drone flight conditions by inspecting the drone's driving units (motors, ESC, blades).

In the meantime, despite having drones, local governments have often neglected their drones due to difficulties in accurately diagnosing and managing the safety status of the aircraft. It was urgent to establish a systematic management system for safe drone operation, as it could lead to unexpected accidents in the event of drone performance degradation or failure.

To solve this problem, WEFLO used fusion sensors and its own drone inspection solution based on AI technology to diagnose the drone's air condition. Wiplo's solution checks the drone's driving unit quickly and accurately in a non-contact manner, and analyzes the inspection data collected through AI to accurately diagnose the condition of the aircraft. In addition, a detailed inspection result report is provided to determine whether the aircraft is broken and its aging condition so that predictive maintenance is possible.

Through this inspection of drones by local governments in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, drones that can be safely used continue to be used, and drones that have problems are disused, greatly improving the safety of drone operation. This project is of great significance in that it conducted a full inspection of drones in local governments for the first time in Korea.

Based on this successful case, WEFLO is expanding its business to various fields such as drone art shows and drone inspection in the manufacturing stage by commercializing the service. In particular, in the case of drone shows that operate multiple drones at the same time, it is expected that safety accidents can be prevented in advance and safer and more colorful performances can be provided through pre-inspection. In addition, it plans to expand to services that integrate not only inspection and result diagnosis, but also maintenance fields.

"Through cooperation with the Jeju Provincial Government, We have proven that WeFlow's drone inspection solution can contribute to local governments' drone safety management," said Yee-jung Kim, CEO of WEFLO. "As various local governments and public institutions are showing high interest in WEFLO's drone inspection solution, we will continue to contribute to improving the safety of the drone and AAM industries through continuous technology development and partnerships."
