AI-based mobility diagnosis company Wiplo announced that it will participate in the Commercial UAV Expo 2026, a representative commercial drone exhibition in North America, which will be held at the Caesars Forum in Las Vegas from September 1st to 3rd. Wiplo will set up a booth at the Korea Joint Hall as part of a project to support overseas expansion by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Aviation Safety Technology Institute.


In this exhibition, among the equipment constituting the drone automatic quality inspection solution "DRQC", the equipment that checks and corrects the condition of the drone's navigation system on the ground will be demonstrated live. In particular, the process of measuring and correcting the condition of the geomagnetic sensor, one of the main elements of navigation, will be presented directly at the site.


DRQC is an end-of-line (EOL) solution that automatically inspects the quality before shipment after drone assembly is completed. ▲ It consists of driving inspection ▲ navigation device inspection and calibration ▲ battery diagnosis, and the key is to quantitatively measure the gas condition that was previously checked through test flights and record it as inspection data.


Currently, in drone manufacturing sites, test flights to fly actual aircraft are commonly used to check whether the assembled aircraft is operating normally. However, as production increases, the method of repeatedly flying all aircraft takes a lot of time and manpower, and is also affected by external environments such as weather and flight space. The risk of fall and damage that may occur during the test process and the deviation of judgment by each worker also act as a burden on the constant management of manufacturing quality.


Wiplo is moving these quality inspections from 'sky' to 'ground' production lines. DRQC analyzes the condition based on data collected from each inspection equipment without actually flying the aircraft. Through a multimodal fusion sensor, the state of the driving system such as motor and radar is measured, the sensor state of the navigation device is checked and corrected, and the battery state is diagnosed. The measured data values are compared with normal criteria through AI-based analysis, and the inspection results are accumulated as digital quality records for each gas. This allows manufacturers to manage the quality of the shipping stage on the same basis, while also using the accumulated data to track the cause of defects and improve the manufacturing process.


DRQC solutions are also being applied to actual drone manufacturing sites. South Korean drone manufacturers have introduced driving inspection equipment and are quantitatively inspecting the condition of the driving unit in the manufacturing stage, and have lowered the crash rate of the flight test process from 20% to 0.2% since the introduction. In addition, Wiplo demonstrated DRQC technology to global defense and unmanned aircraft manufacturers through a road show in the western United States at the end of June, and is continuing follow-up discussions for technology verification and actual introduction of DRQC solutions, including navigation system inspection and correction.


"The Commercial UAV Expo aims to specify the specific scope of application with global drone and unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturers who are currently discussing technology verification and introduction, and to advance discussions with PoC to actual introduction," said Kim Eui-jung, CEO of Wiplo. "Based on this, we plan to secure application cases of overseas production lines and expand DRQC's global business in earnest."
